i wonder if it's common practice for other blogs to randomly change their blog names once in a short while. because i did it first and then connie did it and we both do it now to a ridiculous degree. so i'll just go rename my blog now again.

hi everyone :)
i'm at school, too. there have been so many new things and new people and new everything - it's hard to condense it into a few sentences. but hm, i'll see what i can do. hehe ;) so my roommate that i wrote a letter to but never wrote me back? she's SUPER cool. it turns out she was on some sort of archaeological dig camp thing and didn't have access to a telephone or anything. she didn't hate me! and i didn't scare her away with my dorky stationary! ;) she is part of the navajo tribe and she's a christian. as are my RA and two other girls in my hall. it's neato. i'm going to the fellowship tonight, so hopefully that'll be good. anyways. what else has happened? oh, i met the kid that supposedly wrecked my tent when i was four. he's.. interesting. very loud and outspoken, but nice. and i keep seeing this guy that i *think* is the triplet that eileen keeps telling me about (does eileen read this?). so what have i done. i went to an eighties blacklight party the other day. haha... it was a party hosted by a fraternity. it definitely wasn't as sketchy as i thought it would be, but definitely odd. tiny, tiny room with lots of people who don't know each other dancing = immense heat and awkwardness. interesting experience, though. mm, it's dinner time.. i'll update more later. ;) Thursday, August 28, 2003

jay chou is better than i remembered! cool. i'm smitten with his cello playing-ness. a lot of chinese music videos make me want to cry because there's always someone dying in the hospital or going blind.
this summer was super. i can't say i did a lot of the things that i wanted to do (fishing on a big boat in the ocean, road trip, fly a kite ..), but eh. you know that everyone is going to remember this summer... and refer to it as, "the summer before we went to college for the first time." well, for most of us. minus ellie. and connie. and zi. well i've started packing. i believe i'm bringing entirely too much clothing but i'm not sure yet. derek: goodbye, best wishes ... say hi to allison and steph for me whenever you see them. and join an a cappella group because that would be cool. and something copied from my entry in connie's blog: here's to staying in touch, and having a great year at our respective schools. *toast* Monday, August 25, 2003

heya derek, i really haven't seen much of you since the end of the school year last summer (i went somewhere then you went to taiwan which overlapped and then i went to school before you came back and i barely talked to you this summer too) but anyway have a good couple months at school before i see you at thanksgiving. don't get too weird while you're away! :)

eh. "qing tian" (sunny day, fine day, clear day, i'm not sure) is fast becoming my
favorite jay chou song, maybe even surpassing "ke ai nu ren" (cute girl). i need to memorize and translate it when i have time, but so far i've enlisted virginia who has given me this as the first part of the chorus: the day the winds blew I tried to hold on to your hand but it was raining so hard I couldn't see you how much longer will it be until I can be with you I'm waiting for a sunny day maybe I'll be a little better then i like this song. i just read something interesting. we were watching "spiderman" on mtv at steph's house last friday. today i was at imdb.com just browsing around and i found out that neil patrick harris (doogie howser) is the voice of peter parker. and lisa loeb is the voice of mary jane. i want to watch it again.
har har.. when i went to type in 'blogger', it almost came out 'globber'. okay, i amuse myself too easily. :P
ahh, the flaming lips. they are very good. i only have 'yoshimi battles the pink robots' though. i don't know much about their other stuff. have you seen batman forever? there was this one scene where jim carrey (as edward nigma) enters his apartment and does all this stuff (i don't remember what), and the flaming lips are in the background. part of the song went something like.. you're sort of stuck where you are, [something something something], you can buy expensive cars, you can live on mars, and do it your way. i wonder why i remember that. haha.. i haven't found out who my roommate is yet. i wonder what i'll say when i talk to her.
man. that's a lot of classes, derek. of course, I just avoid friday classes like the plague. right now I wish I could avoid all classes like the plague, actually. ellie is sick of summer school.
hehe, freshman year my roommates and I met in an AIM chatroom. we didn't learn anything about each other (except they saw what I looked like and that I was a dork because I showed them my website). what did you tell him about yourself? |
